Little crash story from over at Pashnit.com.....

I was on the way home from a run out to the snowy end of MRR and FR-23, and I was having a great ride... as I was traveling sedately down Auburn-Foresthill Rd. just a mile or so above the turnoff to Old Auburn-Foresthill Rd., I came around a easy curve near the speed limit, and saw the group of sportbikes pulled over on both sides of the road. A group of riders could be seen standing around looking down the embankment...not a good sign and one I have seen before - somebody crashed! I stopped for the usual reasons, "is everybody OK?"...and then got the camera out and made a few pics...

The crashee, Mark is one lucky boy. Seems he has been riding the bike, formerly known as a Gixxer 650 now junk, only a couple of months, and was riding with a pack of more experienced riders. Coming around the turn at "about 80" something spooked him and from the indications on the scene, he locked up some brakes, did the target fixation thing and slid right off the road about 30 feet down the bank and at least 80 to 100 feet from the road...

Boys and Girls, this is why ATGATT, this is why Riders Training, this is why "ride your own ride"...and like Lucky Mark, most of the other riders were dressed like squids...lots of t-shirts, tennis shoes and Levis...only a few riding jackets were in evidence, but at least they all had helmets....

That's why my jeans are Riding Jeans - Kevlar panel stitched inside the denim, looks like jeans, crashes like bike gear.
