"Tende pass is on the french side of the border between France and Italy. originally built by Napoleon, it is with 1871m not an especially high pass. however, what makes it interesting is the southern ramp which is 98% gravel and consists of 62 hairpins, very closely together. sometimes just a few meters between hairpins and because the flank of the pass is very steep, they sit almost on top of each other."
