Despite Gas Hike, Ford Super Duties Flying Off Dealer Lots
Ford’s bluff-faced 2008 F-series Super Duty trucks are out of the blocks, and beating sales projections. According to AutoWeek, consumers are buying lots of loaded F-350s, and even the big-dog F-450 is trending well.
That’s great news for cash-strapped Ford, as its heavy duty pickups are profit-rich vehicles, especially when buyers spec out models with lots of pricy options (like King Ranch and Lariat trim level packages). Loaded high-end models can yield as much as $17,000 per unit for Ford.
In specific, Lariat sales are up 30-percent, and King Ranch sales are up a startling 53-percent, year-over-year. In fact, Super Duty model sales made up a surprising 43-percent of all F-series sales in April.
Why are we still in the middle east?
