Much has been made of the laborious process of "indexing' your spark plugs, which means using various thickness washers to make each gap face a certain specific direction in the cylinder, usually facing the exhaust valve. Regarded as insignificant by most, if you have that obsessive compulsive gene and are in need of every fraction of horsepower, it doesn't hurt.
