Since the demise of Kazaa, I've been looking for another way to share my "legally owned" files with "members of my immediate family" to "determine the compatability" of the band and the individual for free.

Several months ago I found Shareaza, but it was still in it's infancy. Recently a new iteration was released, it runs significantly faster on my box.
