A fellow Valkyrie rider was struck from behind by a car recently, he went down hard.

Personally, I ride with a fullface helmet, gloves, boots, and either an armoured mesh jacket or an armoured leather jacket, but I support those who choose to ride with less.

This guy rode with less. Ouch.
